PARIS SCOOP

HELP WANTED: Unemployment in France may be pushing 13 percent, but there is no shortage of positions available at Paris fashion houses. Lanvin, for example, isn’t renewing Ocimar Versolato’s contract after his collection on Friday, and the house is expected to name a new designer soon. “Ocimar has brought us a lot, especially in terms of cocktail and evening dressing, but now we need someone devoted exclusively to our organization,” said Lanvin president Gerald Asaria, adding that Versolato would now focus on his own line.
Meanwhile, Celine has been interviewing candidates and, after narrowing the field to Michael Kors and Antonio Berardi, is said to be leaning toward Kors. Kors, contacted in New York Monday, said, “At this point, I have no comment to make.”
Balenciaga has quietly hired Nicolas Ghesquiere to head its design team. Ghesquiere, who had previously worked on Balenciaga’s licenses, also works on the Trussardi collection.
