DANIEL GUNTHERT APPOINTED CEO OF RENA LANGE (USA)
NEW YORK — Daniel Gunthert has been named chief executive officer of Rena Lange (USA) Inc., the international designer group based in Munich.
Gunthert succeeds his father, Peter Gunthert, who also is the founder and president of M. Lange & Co. GmbH.
Daniel Gunthert joined M. Lange & Co. in August 1996 as a product manager. From 1995 to 1996, he was marketing manager at Estee Lauder International.
Prior to that, Gunthert was an associated buyer at Bergdorf Goodman in New York, and an assistant sales manager at Canepa SpA in Como, Italy.
Since it was incorporated in July 1993, the annual volume of Rena Lange (USA) has ballooned from $1 million to $10 million.
A 51 percent surge in U.S. business this year is helping to raise the overall business 40 percent over 1996 levels, the firm said.
The company also recently expanded its global operations to include jeans and sportswear to be made by Falber Confezioni SRL in Forli/Reggio Emilia, Italy; an accessories collection to be made in Paris by Groupe Guene, and a line of footwear produced by Italy-based International Designers, under the fashion direction of Pupi D’Angeri.
