PARIS — The Escada Group said Friday it has signed an eyewear licensing agreement with France’s Airess.
Beginning with the upcoming fall season, Airess will manufacture and distribute the Escada Eyewear collection worldwide, except for the North American market where the line will be marketed by Airess’s sublicense partner, Tura, based in New York.
Ley said that his group chose Airess as its partner for its high-quality design, manufacturing and distribution network.
“You don’t need to work with the biggest group to get the best eyewear,” Ley noted.
He cited Kenzo and Charles Jourdan as other eyewear brands made and marketed by Airess.
Ley said Escada would organize a team in its Munich headquarters to develop the eyewear collection.
Retail prices, distribution and volume estimates are expected to be established in the next couple of weeks, Ley said.
