MARK CROSS CLEARANCE SET AT LOEHMANN’S
NEW YORK — Loehmann’s will help sound the final bell for Mark Cross when the off-pricer begins a chainwide sale of the venerable brand’s merchandise for both men and women on Oct. 28.
As reported, Mark Cross, which dates back to 1845, announced in August that after an unsuccessful attempt to sell the business it was shutting down. It has closed all of its six regular-price stores, with some of them to be converted to units for Coach, which, like Mark Cross, is a unit of Sara Lee Corp. The Mark Cross outlet store in the Harriman, N.Y., Woodbury Commons outlet center remains open.
According to a Loehmann’s spokesman, the assortment of handbags, wallets, luggage, clocks, picture frames, briefcases and gifts and games will be available at prices marked 40 percent to 50 percent off original retail prices.
The Mark Cross clearance is being promoted in conjunction with Loehmann’s 75th anniversary sale.
