NEW YORK — Barry Richard Rogers, 53, president of Wheaton & Katz Ltd., a manufacturer of private label women’s sportswear, died Oct. 10 in the Staten Island University Hospital.
The cause of death was a brain tumor, according to a friend, Hal Feltman.
Rogers had not been active in the business since April due to his illness. He and his partner, Irving Jontow, started the company in 1979.
Earlier, Rogers had been a principal in Brookdale, a coat firm, for about 10 years.
Rogers is survived by his parents, Dave and Lillian Rogers, and a brother, Jesse.
