BARRETT EXITS PUBLIC RELATIONS POST AT POLO
NEW YORK — Dolores Barrett is stepping down as vice president of public relations at Polo/Ralph Lauren Corp., a post she has held for seven years. Her resignation is effective April 1.
“For some time I have felt that I have accomplished everything I set out to do here,” Barrett said Monday. “I discussed this with Ralph, and now the time is right for me to move on.”
As the primary public relations counsel for Lauren, Barrett was responsible for creating the strategy and approving and implementing Lauren’s worldwide publicity, special events and philanthropic projects. Barrett oversaw a staff of 12 public relations executives and coordinators. As reported, one of those executives, Pat Beh, senior director of public relations and special projects, left Friday to become director of public relations at House & Garden.
Barrett’s successor hasn’t been named yet.
