ROCKPORT WOMEN’S LINE: Rockport is revving up to launch its first line of apparel for women.
A 24-piece women’s travel collection and a 16-piece line of activewear aimed at walkers, will bow at retail in August from the Marlboro, Mass.-based footwear and apparel maker, a division of Reebok International, Wholesale prices range from $18 for a Polartec fleece tank top to $140 for a long raincoat made of polyester microfiber, said Richard Holcombe, vice president and general manager of Rockport apparel.
The women’s offerings will be distributed in Rockport stores, sporting goods stores, department stores and mail-order catalogs in 36 countries and is expected to generate $6 million at wholesale in its first year, Holcombe said.
Items in the travel collection can be fastened together to make packing easier and prevent wrinkling.
The women’s line will be featured on the company’s new site on the World Wide Web this year.
