WEEKLY STOCK INDEX
NEW YORK — Most fashion stocks lost ground in the week ended Jan. 12 in a depressed broader market. The WWD stock index fell 2.8 percent, with decliners topping advancers, 47 to 12. The Dow Jones Industrial Average sank 3.5 percent.
Several women’s apparel issues were under pressure, including Norton McNaughton, falling 1 7/8 to 9 1/8, and Liz Claiborne, 2 to 26 7/8.
