REVLON NAMES KUMAR TO HEAD CONSUMER UNIT
NEW YORK — Alex Kumar, a former top executive at Bausch & Lomb, has been named president of Revlon’s International Consumer Products Group.
He will report to George Fellows, president and chief operating officer of Revlon Inc., who has overseen the international division since Paul Block left in 1994.
The company is looking to expand on the international front and plans to increase distribution, expand certain regional brands and strengthen core brands through uniform marketing worldwide.
“Alex’s expertise as a global business strategist will make him a strong leader for our international team,” said Fellows. “He is well versed in managing a large network of international subsidiaries, including those in several emerging markets.”
Previously, Kumar served as senior vice president of international operations at Bausch & Lomb. He has 25 years of marketing and consumer products management experience, including 12 in Europe. Kumar has also worked for Bristol-Myers Squibb, International Playtex and H.J. Heinz, where he developed, launched and marketed international brands, including Clairol, Max Factor and Mary Quant.
