OUTDOOR INDUSTRY BUYS MONTBELL FROM LANDS’ END
NEW YORK — Lands’ End Inc. sold the marketing rights and assets of its MontBell America Inc. subsidiary to a division of Outdoor Industry Group Inc. of San Francisco. Financial terms were not disclosed. Lands’ End said it will take an unspecified charge in the current quarter as a result of the sale.
In the year-ago fourth quarter, the Dodgeville, Wis.-based company set up an after-tax reserve of $2.1 million for the sale of the division. Lands’ End earned $24 million on sales of $379.1 million in the quarter ended Jan. 27, 1995.
