POLO RALPH LAUREN SHIFTS DESIGN DEPARTMENT STAFF
NEW YORK — Polo Ralph Lauren has made some changes in its design department.
Maggie Norris has been named senior design director of Ralph Lauren Collection and Collection Classics, a new post. Max Wilson has been named design director of Collection. He takes over some of the duties formerly handled by Gale Parker, who resigned last summer as design director of Collection and Collection Classics to become vice president, fashion design at Limited Stores.
Norris joined the company in 1984 as design director of Collection Classics and most recently was senior fashion director of women’s design. That post won’t be filled.
Wilson joined Polo in 1993. He had previously been associate design director of Collection and Collection Classics.
In a related move, Fran Miskin has been named director of design development for sweaters. She will be responsible for sweater design for each line, with particular focus on the Collection. She succeeds Jyotsna Mishra, who left the firm.
Previously, Miskin was knitwear design director for Donna Karan.
Norris, Wilson and Miskin report to Buffy Birrittella, senior vice president of women’s design and advertising, and Lisa Will Kaess, vice president of women’s design.
