NEW YORK — Polo Ralph Lauren Corp. has named Peter Connolly to the new post of senior vice president of communications.
He will start on April 15.
In a related move, Brandusa Niro will join the company on April 8 as vice president of public relations. She succeeds Dolores Barrett, who, as reported, announced her resignation Monday.
Connolly was group vice president of marketing at the cable network CNBC. Before that, he was director of marketing at Ikea US Inc.
At Polo, he will oversee the advertising and public relations departments, focusing on the development and implementation of worldwide advertising and marketing strategies.
He reports to Ralph Lauren, chairman, for all creative aspects and to Michael Newman, vice chairman, for administration.
Niro had her own marketing and public relations company and was a consultant at Hugo Boss USA, where she acted as director of marketing, advertising, publicity and public relations. She was also marketing director for the French Menswear Federation and SEHM.
At Polo, Niro will be responsible for the public relations department and will report to Lauren creatively and to Connolly administratively.
