MISSONI’S 2ND PARIS BOUTIQUE SET TO MAKE DEBUT IN JULY
PARIS — Missoni plans a second Paris boutique, which is slated to open in July 1997.
The new store will be at 1 Rue du Faubourg St. Honore, directly opposite the Gucci boutique. Austrian architect Matteo Thun, who is of the Memphis School, is expected to sign onto the project, according to Vittori Missoni, the company’s marketing manager.
“This store will be more contemporary than our other ones,” Missoni said.
Added a company spokeswoman: “It could be considered our ‘new image’ boutique.”
The shop, with about 2,700 square feet, will carry Missoni clothing and accessories and will have separate entrances for the men’s and women’s departments.
The established Missoni boutique here is on the Rue du Bac on the Left Bank. That location was opened about 14 years ago.
