MORONI APPOINTED PRESIDENT OF AUTHENTIC FITNESS RETAIL
NEW YORK — Sergio Moroni has been named president of the retail division of Authentic Fitness Corp., succeeding Beth Ravit, who left the company two weeks ago.
Moroni reports to Linda J. Wachner, chairman and chief executive officer.
“Our Authentic Fitness retail division, with 98 stores across the country, is a fast-growing part of our business,” Wachner said in a statement. “We have aggressive expansion plans for the next two years.”
Moroni, Ravit and Wachner could not be reached for further comment.
Moroni, 38, was senior vice president and general manager of the retail division of Fila USA since 1993 and was responsible for all aspects of marketing, merchandising, sourcing and operations. A successor at Fila has not been named.
From 1985 to 1987, Moroni was executive vice president and general merchandise manager of the U.S. retail franchise division of Esprit de Corp., expanding the chain to over 100 units. Earlier, he was executive vice president and general merchandise manager of Benetton USA for two years.
