ON A RAMPAGE: Rampage Clothing Co., a Los Angeles junior manufacturer and retail chain, is opening its first department store boutique today in Marshall Field’s State Street flagship in Chicago.
Rampage has about 50 freestanding stores nationwide.
The 1,600-square-foot boutique will carry women’s sportswear, dresses, knitwear, denim, separates and career wear. It will also offer labeled purses, hair accessories and gift items such as picture frames.
Future collaborations between the two companies will depend on the success of the State Street boutique, according to a Field’s spokeswoman.

IN LIMBO: Wet Seal/Contempo Casuals, the Irvine, Calif.-based junior store duo, is opening two Limbo Lounge unisex concept stores this month.
One is in Tyler Mall in Riverside, Calif., the other in Cerritos Mall in Orange County, Calif.
In addition to casual sportswear for young men and women, a juice bar and computer workstations with Internet access are offered.
Ed Thomas, chief operating officer of Wet Seal/Contempo Casuals, planned for Limbo Lounge following the success of the Contempo Casuals in-store boutiques called Girl’s Room.
Girl’s Room areas are stocked with housewares, games, cosmetics and magazines and, in some stores, photo booths. Thomas said Limbo Lounge will include expanded Girl’s Room categories in addition to new categories for men.
