NEW YORK — In a bid to make its apparel fabric buying show an all-encompassing sourcing event, The Larkin Group has added a Private Label/Custom Manufacturing Marketplace to its next International Fashion Fabric Exhibition.
IFFE is slated to run March 18-20 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center here.
“Listening to the trade and our exhibitor base, we have found that a lot of retailers come to IFFE to buy fabrics for their private label programs, and they want factories present that they can work with,” said Jonathan Larkin, president of the Larkin Group.
“This will make the show a place where the retailers can get a view of the market, find factories and develop lines that will help them compete on a global basis.”
Larkin said that he has signed up retailer Belk International and apparel manufacturers Russell Corp. and Capezio to serve as members of an advisory board that will guide the private label segment’s development.
So far, Atlas Headwear and London Fog have committed to booth space for the private label segment, he said.
