DIOR SALES JUMP 19.9% IN PERIOD
PARIS — Christian Dior Couture posted a 19.9 percent sales gain to $176.1 million (897 million francs) at current exchange in the first nine months of 1996.
A year earlier, the fashion house recorded sales of 748 million francs.
The results were reported by Christian Dior SA, the parent company, which also holds a stake in LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton. Dior SA, whose figures largely reflect its LVMH holdings, reported total sales of $4.28 billion (21.8 billion francs) for the nine months, up 2.9 percent from a year ago.
Profits for the Dior operation were not reported. Dior Couture typically reports operating profits for the first half and full year.
