DE LA RENTA INKS SCARF PACT WITH V. FRAAS, ADDING WOOLS
Byline:
NEW YORK — Oscar de la Renta Accessories has entered into a licensing agreement with V. Fraas to produce a collection of scarves.
For nearly 18 years, the line had been made by Accessory Street. The change in licensees was in part driven by de la Renta’s desire to add woolens to his assortment. V. Fraas is primarily known for its woven and printed cashmeres, cashmere blends, wools and wool blends, in addition to traditional printed silks.
V. Fraas will produce scarves for both the designer’s ready-to-wear collection and for Oscar, his new bridge sportswear line.
The lines will debut during the March accessories market for fall and be sold at the V. Fraas showroom here at 350 Fifth Ave.
Wholesale prices have yet to be resolved, according to Tim Wiggin, executive vice president at V. Fraas. He said the lines will comprise silks, including twills, jacquards, charmeuse and satin stripes, and wovens in other natural fibers, including cashmere, mohair and wool.
Accessory Street will continue to produce a licensed line of Oscar de la Renta cosmetics travel cases.
