BATES RESIGNING AS VP OF ESPRIT
NEW YORK — Esprit de Corp., the San Francisco junior apparel company now headed by Jay Margolis, has had another top-level departure.
Barry Bates, senior vice president of apparel sales, revealed Friday that he is leaving on Feb. 9.
Esprit’s president of wholesale, Andy Cohen, resigned this month shortly after Margolis joined the company as chairman and chief executive officer.
Bates has been at Esprit since January 1994, overseeing sales from the showroom at 1370 Broadway here.
Bates said he did not yet have plans for his next move.
An Esprit spokesman said no successor has been named.
