ANDY COHEN STEPS DOWN FROM ESPRIT
NEW YORK — Andrew Cohen has resigned as president of Esprit Wholesale, the wholesale apparel division of Esprit de Corp., the San Francisco junior manufacturer.
Cohen joined the firm in 1993 as president of Esprit Juniors, became president of Esprit Apparel the next year and assumed his current post in 1995, when Esprit consolidated wholesale operations.
Cohen’s departure follows another top-level change at the troubled apparel manufacturer. Earlier this month, Jay Margolis, who had been in line for the top spot at Ellen Tracy, became Esprit’s chief executive officer in what was said to be an equity deal.
Cohen was traveling Thursday and couldn’t be reached. A replacement hasn’t been named, said an Esprit spokesman.
