ANNA SUI INKS LICENSING DEAL WITH ISETAN
NEW YORK — Anna Sui has signed a five-year licensing agreement with Isetan Co. Ltd. for the Japanese business of her women’s collection.
First-year sales are expected to be $5 million, doubling Sui’s current collection volume in Japan. Sui’s Japanese distribution was handled directly by her own company.
Under the agreement, Isetan will hold the master license for Sui’s name in Japan and will be able to license it for additional categories.
First-year distribution plans include opening freestanding stores next year in Osaka and Tokyo, and in-store shops in Isetan and Hankyu flagship stores.
Distribution to other department and specialty stores will be handled by Mammina, a subsidiary of Isetan.
