’96 TOMMY AWARD NOMINEES NAMED
NEW YORK — The American Printed Fabrics Council has revealed the nominees for the 22nd annual Tommy Awards honoring the best in printed fabrics.
Nominees come from 16 categories in women’s, men’s and children’s apparel; bedding ensembles, home decorative fabrics and accessories; over-the-counter apparel and crafts, and personal accessories. The winners will be announced at the Tommy Awards Gala, Dec. 5 at the New York Public Library.
The nominees in women’s wear and related categories — listed by firm name; designer name, if cited; the apparel lines using the fabric, and the apparel designer, if cited — follow:
In women’s blouses/separates/sportswear: Fashion Fabrics of America for two prints, designed by Jane Meehan for Platinum, and by Randi Termo for Laura Kieffer; Transprint USA by Bonnie Bullock for BCBG; Cranston Apparel Fabrics for Lifestyle Elements by Sonia Trejo; Cranston Print Works by Kathy Duffy for Alfred Dunner by Kathy Lyman, and Symphony Fabrics by Donna Wolfson for Ali & Kris for Brook Leigh by Debra Halejian.
In junior dresses: Fashion Fabrics by Gina Erckman for two prints for NC Love; Transprint by Bullock for Vernon Thorne, and de Marco California Fabrics by Michael Marco for J&F Design/Next Generation by Alison Copeland.
