EMPORIO ARMANI TO BOW IN MANHASSET N.Y.
NEW YORK — Emporio Armani, Giorgio Armani’s lower-priced collection created in 1981, will open a 5,000-square-foot store in The Americana shopping mall in Manhasset, N.Y., on Saturday.
Emporio is also opening a store on 601 Madison Ave., between 57th and 58th Streets in September. There is an Emporio on Fifth Avenue and 16th Street, and five others in the U.S., in Los Angeles, Costa Mesa and San Francisco, Calif.; Boston, and Honolulu.
The Americana unit, owned by the Hirshleifer family, will donate 10 percent of sales from March 16 to 31 to AIDS programs at North Shore University Hospital, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation of Long Island and Children’s Medical Fund of New York for Schneider’s Children’s Hospital, Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
