NEW YORK — Reflecting its strategy to build up private label assortments, Federated Department Stores has named Joseph P. Feczko senior vice president for marketing at its product development division. The position is new.
Feczko, who has been senior vice president of marketing and creative services at Dallas-based Neiman Marcus since February 1990, will join Federated on Jan. 2. The move marks his return to Federated and a reunion with Allen Questrom, Federated’s chairman and chief executive officer, and Terry Lundgren, chairman and chief executive officer of Federated’s merchandising and product development divisions. They are all veterans of Neiman’s and Federated. Feczko will report to Lundgren. Prior to Neiman’s, Feczko was vice president of visual presentation at Federated’s Bloomingdale’s division. Before that, he was corporate director of marketing and visual merchandising at Duty Free Shoppers Group Ltd., and operating vice president, visual merchandising at Federated’s Burdines division.
In his new job, Feczko will be responsible for integrating all aspects of marketing, visual merchandising, graphics and advertising for the company’s private label merchandise, with the goal of enhancing consumer recognition of the store-owned brands. Federated is in the process of expanding its key private brands, including the Charter Club, I.N.C. and Aeropostale lines most prominent at the Macy’s division.
