RESHAPING KELLWOOD UNIT: Industry reports say Kellwood Co. is planning to consolidate the management levels and restructure several lines of business within its New York-based intimates division.
Changes already began Thursday, when Cecilia Post resigned as senior vice president of the intimates division. She joined Kellwood in June. Post had been president of Body Drama Inc. since 1985, an intimate apparel company in Los Angeles.
A successor has not been named.
A spokeswoman at Kellwood’s corporate headquarters in St. Louis on Friday confirmed Post’s leaving. As for any further changes, the spokeswoman said an announcement would be made this week.
Kellwood manufactures sleepwear and robes under such labels as Stan Herman, Ilise Stevens and Sugar Plum labels and private label, as well as daywear and foundations by LA Intimates, and the licensed line of Breathables by Gilda Marx panties. Kellwood stopped producing a line of bridal trousseaux sleepwear under the Terry Russo for Intimate Concepts label in November, a label it acquired last year.
CANCELLI JOINS KIDD: Paul Cancelli has been named designer of robes and loungewear under the Laura Kidd U.S.A., a division of Bastidas Industries, Los Angeles.
Cancelli had been designer of loungewear under the David Brown and David Brown Boutique labels at I. Appel Corp. since May.
Fran Abramowicz has been named designer of the Brown lines at Appel, and continues to design the firm’s private label innerwear. He reports to Norman Katz, chairman of I. Appel.
