AVEDON DOES THE GAP: Richard Avedon is currently shooting the new Gap campaign. While Avedon’s studio confirmed he was doing the shoot, it referred all calls to The Gap, which, as usual, declined to discuss its ad campaign. Adam Glassman, formerly of Lears, reportedly is styling the ads.

CHANGES AT SELF: Judy Prouty, senior editor at Self, will join the Los Angeles Times as style editor of the Sunday Magazine. She succeeds Rochelle Reed, who left last year. Also at Self, Donna Bulseco, senior editor, was promoted to lifestyle editor, responsible for copy for the beauty, fashion, design and food pages.

TATLER GETS BOYD: Ann Boyd has been named lifestyle editor of the Tatler in London, a new post. She’ll continue to run her design consultant firm. Boyd was Ralph Lauren’s European creative director for 10 years until May 1993, and prior to that, was fashion editor of The Sunday Times and The Observer. Boyd will contribute to Tatler each month on everything from fashion to interiors.

MIRA’S OUT, BELLA’S IN: The Mira section of Mirabella has been renamed Flair, covering style news, and will bow in May. And a new front-of-the-book section called Bella, covering beauty, will be launched in April. Elizabeth Pochoda, formerly senior editor, has been named deputy editor of Mirabella, sharing the title with Mary Peacock.
In other news, Rory Gevis has been named style director of Mirabella. She joined the magazine in December as accessories editor.
