NEW YORK — Talbots will open five units this month, pushing the specialty retailer’s store count to 400.
Two of the stores, opening Feb. 15, are in the Tampa Bay, Fla., area. The smaller of the two units, at 4,300 square feet, will be in the new Brandon Town Center regional mall, which also opens Feb. 15. The 1 million-square-foot mall is anchored by Dillard’s, Burdines, Sears and J.C. Penney Co.
Talbots’ second new Florida unit, a 5,000-square-foot store at Northwood Plaza in Clearwater, takes over space previously occupied by DeLong’s, which has moved to another location in the shopping center.
Talbots will open its 53rd Talbots Petites unit on Feb. 10 at Centerplace Galleria in Rochester, Minn. The 1,655-square-foot Petites store will be adjacent to a Talbots speciality store on the Galleria’s first floor. In North Carolina, Talbots will open a 3,800-square-foot store Feb. 17 in a new space at the expanded Belle Hollow Shopping Center in Hickory.
A 4,000-square-foot unit at Montgomery Village Shopping Center in Santa Rosa, Calif. will open Feb. 24. It replaces a children’s shoe store and The Signature Apparel, a women’s apparel retailer.
