PARIS — Sanofi SA said fragrance and cosmetics sales rose to $865 million (4.496 billion francs), up 19 percent in 1994, largely due to the addition of Yves Saint Laurent.
YSL, which was acquired in May 1993, was consolidated for the full year in 1994 into Sanofi’s figures, while in 1993, it was included for only seven months of the year, according to the company.
At YSL, sales were up. But the activities of other Sanofi brands were disrupted by the divestiture of Stendhal and Perry Ellis, the company said.
These figures do not include subsidiaries Yves Rocher and Nina Ricci.
