GOB SALE OK’D AT YONKERS WANAMAKER
NEW YORK — A bankruptcy judge here Tuesday gave Woodward & Lothrop Inc. the go-ahead to conduct a going-out-of-business sale at its John Wanamaker store in Yonkers.
W&L, which is reorganizing under Chapter 11, said the sale will begin this weekend and run through at least mid-March.
As reported, W&L reached an agreement to sell the Yonkers lease to Sears, Roebuck & Co. for $12.5 million, but the landlord for the 223,000-square-foot property reportedly plans a bid to regain the lease. — Fairchild News Service
