Quotas on all U.S. imports of textiles and apparel under the GATT regime of liberalized trade will end on Jan. 1, 2005. Due to an editing error, the year was incorrectly given in an article on page 10, Jan. 31.

Jerome A. Chazen, chairman of Liz Claiborne Inc., has functioned in the chief executive officer’s role at the company for several years, but the formal ceo title had not been assigned since founder Liz Claiborne retired in 1989. An article on page 1, Feb. 1, incorrectly stated that Chazen had held the ceo title. As reported, Paul R. Charron on Tuesday was named president and ceo of the company, while Chazen remains as chairman. The moves become effective May 11.
