PROJECT LONDON TO SHOW YOUNG BRITS IN PARIS, N.Y.
NEW YORK — A group of young British designers will be staging informal showings of their fall collections in Paris and New York this season under the banner Project London.
The event is coordinated by Nick Hallack Associates, a sales and public relations firm here, with the help of the British Department of Trade and Investment’s office in New York, Olympus and Banque Indosuez. The participating designers are Copperwheat Blundell, Antoni & Alison, Paul Frith, Sonja Nuttall, Ben de Lisi, Xavier Foley and Fabio Piras. Hallack is using its Paris office as the site for the shows there March 17-21. The New York shows will be in the firm’s showroom at 476 Broome St. April 3-15.
Nick Hallack, president of the Hallack company, explained the rationale for the shows: “Because the international corps of buyers and press tend to skip London…this is a way to provide a forum for these young and talented designers.”
