ELEANOR KAIRALLA JOHNSON
NEW YORK — A memorial service for Eleanor Kairalla Johnson, president of the Kairalla Agency, a public relations firm here, will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Church of Heavenly Rest, Fifth Avenue and 90th Street.
Johnson died Jan. 5 in New York University Medical Center of lung cancer, according to her son, Patrick Johnson. She was in her 80s.
Johnson, who was active until her death, began her career in 1935 in advertising with the cosmetics firm Charles of the Ritz.
In 1944, Johnson opened her own public relations business, where her clients included various fabric and apparel companies and associations. One of her long-term clients was the Woolknit Associates, which now is known as the Knitwear Fashion Council.
In addition to her son, survivors include two brothers, George and Robert Kairalla; five sisters, Marie Ayd, Florence Teri Parker, Grace Covert, Renee Hamill and Beverly Cox, and two granddaughters.
