NEW YORK — The theme will be “Focus on Fit” for the next Lingerie Week, the annual retail-oriented promotion sponsored by the Intimate Apparel Council and DuPont, scheduled for April 23-29.
IAC members from foundations firms will provide fitters to participating stores for the promotion.
In-store activities will include fitting workshops of bras and shapers for consumers, and sales training breakfast programs for retail salespeople, called the “Fit Kit.” Kits distributed to sales personnel will include a tape measure, a “Focus on Fit” sales training video on fit techniques, a bustier-motif pin with a ribbon motif to identify fitters in-store and “Fit Tips” fact sheets for consumers.
A second video called “The Fittest of Them All” will be distributed to stores as a point-of-purchase tool in lingerie departments, for sales training seminars and other promotional activities.
The program and the videos will be underwritten by the IAC and DuPont.
Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour, Cosmopolitan and Working Woman will participate at in-store Lingerie Week events, said an IAC spokeswoman.
