REEVES TAPS NEW EXECS: Reeves Bros., a supplier of both gray and finished fabrics, New York, has named Warren Vogel director of marketing and Martin Winters merchandise manager, fashion fabrics.
Both are new posts.
Vogel had been vice president of marketing, sportswear fabrics, at Dan River Inc., while Winters was an executive vice president at Tex-Loom.
Vogel and Winters report to David Barowka, president of Reeves’s finished goods department.
KBC OF AMERICA MOVES: KBC of America Inc., the U.S. sales subsidiary of KBC, Lorrach, Germany, has moved its New York headquarters to 1370 Broadway to accommodate the expansion of its design laboratories and showrooms. Previously, its showroom was at 1372 Broadway. In addition, Acharee Apibunyopas has been named creative director for design/product
development of fabrics for the U.S. market. Previously, she was creative director of the now-defunct Frescamoda division of
Damian Mcdermott has joined the company as textiles sales director. Previously, he was private label division sales manager for MM Fab Inc. He succeeds Alan Kerner, who now is vice president of sales at Fashion Fabrics of America, a separate unit of KBC of America.
Michael Manis has been named sales manager of KBC’s Bozkurt/Maya Print division, located in Budapest, Hungary, and Istanbul, Turkey. Previously, he was marketing manager at Cameron Industries Inc.
TEXFI EXECUTIVE CHANGES: The Texfi Blends division of Texfi Industries has named Guido Bergmans director of European marketing. It is a new post. Bergmans was a sales agent for Texfi, covering such markets as Belgium, Holland and Germany. He will be based in Holland.
Texfi has also set up two other new posts, with Colon Knight named manager of marketing services, customer assurance, and Gregg Hyams named Southwestern regional marketing manager. Knight will have responsibilities for customer contracts and all related mill functions. He had been quality control manager.
Hyams’s responsibilities include all of Latin America. He was a Texfi sales representative based in Dallas. Texfi also has promoted Kathleen O’Connor to manager of merchandising and product development. She was formerly men’s wear stylist. O’Connor will be based in Texfi’s New York office.
