LUNDGREN: FEDERATED MERCHANDISING SHOPPING FOR NEW DESIGNERS, RESOURCES
NEW YORK — Federated Merchandising has its eye on new resources.
Terry Lundgren, chairman and chief executive officer of Federated Merchandising, said Monday that a new policy, initiated this month, requires all divisions to spend one or two full days a month in the market seeing new designers or new resources.
Federated Merchandising is the unit that determines the resource structure for all divisions of Federated Department Stores, except for Bloomingdale’s.
Lundgren’s comments came during an afternoon session at the annual convention of the National Retail Federation here.He was addressing the question of how smaller vendors might find a place in Federated stores during an age of retail consolidation.
