MICHAEL SIMON RECALLS SWEATERS
WASHINGTON — Michael Simon Inc., New York, a design and manufacturing firm, has recalled 907 faux fur sweaters after one caught fire and seriously burned a 64-year-old Northbrook, Ill., woman.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall Thursday. An agency spokeswoman said the CPSC has no plans for a broader recall of faux fur, “but it is something we’re going to watch. If more incidents are reported to the commission, that’s something we’re obliged to look at.”
