DUPONT NYLON NAMES PRUYN GENERAL MARKETING DIRECTOR
NEW YORK — DuPont Nylon has named Robert W. Pruyn general director of marketing, succeeding Kerry Kehoe, who has been tapped to head a DuPont task force to develop and execute growth opportunities in Mexico.
In his new post, Pruyn is charged with heading DuPont’s North American nylon business in the outerwear, activewear, intimate apparel, swimwear and bodywear markets.
Pruyn, 54, who has been general director of marketing, DuPont Textiles, since 1993, will continue to lead various efforts in the company’s nylon, Dacron polyester and Lycra spandex business units. He continues to report to Jerald A. Blumberg, the DuPont senior vice president who oversees the firm’s fiber business. Pruyn joined DuPont in 1964 as a marketing trainee.
There will be no successor named to Pruyn’s post, a DuPont spokesman said. Nylon makes up about two-thirds of DuPont’s $6.8 billion in fiber sales. The company has nylon manufacturing in the United States and abroad.
