LESTER, O’REILLY BUY 2 SHOWS FROM BLENHEIM
NEW YORK — Marshall Lester and Paul O’Reilly have acquired the New York Premier Collections and the International Jeanswear & Sportswear trade shows from Blenheim Group USA, the U.S. division of London-based Blenheim Group PLC, a worldwide producer of trade shows.
Lester and O’Reilly have formed International Fashion Shows, a trade show management company to produce apparel shows, at 135 West 41st St. Lester will be president and O’Reilly will be chief executive officer. They declined to disclose the purchase price.
Lester, who brought Blenheim into the U.S. apparel trade show arena about two years ago, was director of its U.S. apparel shows, and O’Reilly was chief financial officer of Blenheim Group USA.
“Putting the two shows under independent ownership gives us the freedom to expand and evolve in whatever direction we feel is correct for the apparel industry,” said Lester.
The acquisition takes Blenheim USA out of the apparel trade show business. It will continue with shows in such sectors as computers, jewelry and apparel machinery.
The New York Premier Collections is a women’s ready-to-wear, sportswear and accessory show held twice a year in the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center here. The current edition ends Tuesday. The International Jeanswear & Sportswear show is held twice a year in Miami.
