NEW YORK — Services for , 85, a former chief executive officer of DuPont, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church, Wilmington, Del.
McCoy died Monday in Greenville, Del., following a five-year battle with Alzheimer’s disease, according to his son Robert, also a former longtime DuPont executive. McCoy’s father, the late J.W. McCoy, also worked for DuPont.
He was named president and ceo in 1967, holding those posts until 1971, when he was named chairman. He retired in 1973, but remained on DuPont’s board.
In addition to his son Robert, McCoy is survived by his wife, Sallie Curtis McCoy; two other sons, Charles Jr. and Thomas, and a brother, William H. McCoy, also a former DuPont executive.
