NEW YORK — Edward S. Glantz has been appointed president and chief operating officer of Giorgio Armani Fashion Corp., a subsidiary of GFT USA Corp. here.
Glantz, who began his new job on Monday, is responsible for the direction and operation of the Giorgio Armani Le Collezioni Women and Men labels, as well as the Mani collection for men. He reports to Giulio Salvi, GFT USA’s president and chief executive officer.
Glantz replaces Colombe Nicholas, who left the company in November 1993. Glantz is married to Gabriella Forte, who had been executive vice president of Giorgio Armani, responsible for all the designer’s U.S. operations, before leaving last May to become president and chief operating officer of Calvin Klein Inc. here.
Glantz has been with Giorgio Armani Fashion Corp. since 1979, most recently as senior vice president of merchandising and production for Armani’s men’s wear business. He will be based in New York.
GFT USA’s parent company is apparel manufacturing giant Gruppo GFT of Turin.
