PERKINS NAMED TO VP POST AT CALVIN KLEIN
NEW YORK — Robert Perkins has been named senior vice president for licensing and marketing at Calvin Klein Inc. It is a new post.
Perkins will be responsible for the sportswear company’s domestic and international licensing and marketing operations, both to maintain existing businesses and develop new licensing ventures. He will report to Gabriel Forte, president and chief operating officer.
Perkins had been president of Q Direct, a subsidiary of the home shopping network QVC.
Before that, he was senior vice president of marketing for Pizza Hut Inc., a subsidiary of Pepsico Inc., and had been president and chief operating officer of the New York advertising agency Chiat Day Moo.
Calvin Klein’s wholesale volume for the Collection and CK lines is estimated at about $210 million. The company’s lucrative fragrance deal with Unilever Ltd. did more than $400 million in wholesale volume last year.
With other licenses such as jeans, eyewear, footwear and outerwear, the company’s income from licensing royalties was estimated at between $45 million and $50 million for 1994.
