BRIAN WOOLF JOINS MARSHALLS AS SPORTSWEAR MERCHANDISER
NEW YORK — Experiencing high-level executive turnover, Marshalls, the troubled off-price giant, has hired Brian Woolf, a former Federated Department Stores executive, as general merchandise manager for sportswear.
The position was last held by Vanessa Castagna, who left in May to join Wal-Mart.
Last month, Harry Brown, executive vice president of merchandising, left Marshalls to join Office Depot. Brown’s position has not been filled.
Woolf reports to Warren D. Feldberg, chairman and chief executive officer, and is responsible for the overall women’s merchandising strategy. Woolf was also named a vice president.
Woolf was senior vice president and general merchandise manager for Federateds Lazarus division. That position was eliminated due to the consolidation of Lazarus into the Rich’s division.
