HARTMARX TEES UP FOR WOMEN’S GOLF
CHICAGO — Hartmarx Corp. has formed an 18-member Women’s Golf Apparel Board, composed of women it says are representative of the consumers to whom it is pitching its golfwear: avid linkswomen who have money.
A fashion show and luncheon was staged at the Hartmarx headquarters in Chicago, where the board members were asked to critique the fall 1995 Nicklaus for Women and Bobby Jones golfwear collections for women.
The women’s board is headed by Letitia Baldridge, who also is a director of Hartmarx.
A donation will be made to sponsor a woman for one term at St. Andrews University in St. Andrews, Scotland, to study golf. A Hartmarx spokeswoman had no further details.
