PENNEY SUCCEEDS HERSELF AT SELF
NEW YORK — Alexandra Penney has had a change of heart.
Penney, who resigned last week as editor-of-chief of Self, has decided to remain in her post.
Last week, it was announced that Penney would be named to the new post of director of media development at Conde Nast, which publishes Self.
“We will announce the appointment of a media development director in the near future,” said S.I. Newhouse, chairman of Conde Nast, in a statement Monday.
Penney said, “When James Truman [Conde Nast editorial director] and I discussed the future of Self, we came to the conclusion that I was my own best successor.”
