SAN FRANCISCO — In a reorganization at Esprit de Corp., the operating divisions of Esprit Apparel, Footwear and Accessories have been combined to create the Esprit Wholesale division.
Andrew Cohen, president of the new wholesale division, will be responsible for all Esprit-label products. Cohen has been with the company since September 1993, most recently as president of Esprit Apparel, encompassing the junior and children’s wear divisions.
The Susie Tompkins bridge collection will be unaffected by the change. It remains under the direction of Lisa Engler, president of Esprit Retail, and Susie Tompkins.
Engle Saez, who assumed the post of president of the footwear and accessories divisions in October 1993, is no longer with the company. Reached at his home in Boston, Saez said he had no immediate plans. He declined to comment on the changes.
David Folkman, Esprit de Corp.’s president and chief executive officer, said the combination of the wholesale divisions “enables us to further enhance Esprit’s ability to present a consistent and comprehensive product offering.”
“Last year we consolidated all the apparel under one division. This move is just an extension of the company’s synergistic movement,” added a spokeswoman for the company. Cohen is credited with helping to turn around the Esprit junior division, she added.
