BROOKLYN APPAREL HIT WITH CH. 7 PETITION
NEW YORK — Three creditors have slapped an involuntary Chapter 11 petition on Brooklyn Apparel Group Inc., a blue jeans manufacturer based at 19 West 34th St. in Manhattan.
The petitioning creditors are 17-19 West 34th St. Co., with an $80,600 rent claim; Jeffrey Berkowitz, who says he is owed some $8,757 for commissions, and Aloyd Forwarding Co. Inc., which claims it is due $7,052.
Harry Wasserstein, president of Brooklyn Apparel, refused to comment on the petition or to say whether the company was experiencing financial difficulties.
