NEW YORK — Gloria Gelfand, vice president of the women’s ready-to-wear division of Salvatore Ferragamo, has been named president of Louis Feraud Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of the Paris-based fashion house.
Gelfand, who will assume the post Aug. 1, replaces Edward Hudson, who moves to the new post of vice chairman and chief executive officer. Gelfand said she will steer development of the marketing and distribution in the U.S. of the Feraud rtw and sportier Set collections, coordinating implementation with the design staff in Paris.
Marijke Kinley, who in February was promoted to vice president of sales at Feraud, will now report to Gelfand. A replacement for Gelfand at Ferragamo has not been named.
Prior to joining Ferragamo in 1992, Gelfand headed the U.S. operation of Rena Lange. Earlier, she was president of Gloria Sachs, Givenchy Sport USA and Escada USA.
