CHANEL NAMES JOEL HERMAN VICE PRESIDENT OF RETAIL UNIT
NEW YORK — Chanel Inc. named Joel Herman vice president of its retail division. He will oversee the merchandising, administration and marketing of the 11 Chanel shops in the U.S.
Although Herman’s title is a new one, his responsibilities were held by Susan Clatworthy, who was executive director of retail until she left the company this year. Herman, who reports to Barbara Cirkva, senior vice president of the retail and wholesale fashion division, was divisional vice president of designer and bridge sportswear and swimwear for Lord & Taylor. Before that, he was president and divisional merchandise manager for European collections and designer sportswear at Neiman Marcus.
