CLAIBORNE NAMES JOANN CASA VP
NEW YORK — Liz Claiborne has named Joann Casa vice president of product development for its moderate brands division, a new post. Casa, who comes to Claiborne from The Leslie Fay Cos., will oversee concept and design of all products within the three moderate brands — Russ, The Villager and Crazy Horse. Each brand previously had a separate product development manager. The three brands have been consolidated into one operating unit.
At Leslie Fay, Casa had been vice president of merchandising and design for its moderate-to-better sportswear divisions. During her three years with Leslie Fay, she was also responsible for developing a new label, Nipon Studio, targeted at the upper moderate to better market. A successor has not been named.
Earlier, she was director of merchandising for the Laura & Jayne division of Bonaventure Textiles (USA) and general merchandise manager of all better and moderate separates for Federated Merchandising.
