GLOBAL GROWTH MEANS EXEC CHANGES AT VF

WYOMISSING, Pa. — Reflecting the global growth of its apparel brands, VF Corp. has realigned and increased responsibilities for four executives on its international management staff.
John Johnson, president of VF International and corporate group vice president, will assume responsibility for evaluating emerging global opportunities. He will also work with the company’s divisions to develop plans for execution and management. Johnson will continue to have direct responsibility for international licensing operations and continue to be based here.
Buzz Ahrens becomes president of VF Asia/Pacific, a new post with responsibility for all operations in Asia, and will relocate to Hong Kong. He was most recently president of VF Jeanswear in Europe.
Terry Lay is named president of VF Jeanswear-Europe with responsibility for jeanswear divisions and support staff in Europe. He was most recently president of Wrangler-Europe and will continue to hold dual positions until a successor for Wrangler is named. He will continue to be based in Brussels.
Weldon Schenk continues as president of VF Intimate Apparel-Europe, with responsibility for all intimate apparel brands in Europe. He will also assume responsibility for nonjeanswear brand development in Europe. He continues to be based in Paris.
All four executives will report to Mackey J. McDonald, president and chief operating officer of VF Corp.
VF’s internationally generated sales in 1993 constituted 15 percent of its total corporate volume of $4.3 billion. In 1989, that contribution was 6 percent.
